Weather around our gite in Normandy

Weather experience at our gite in Normandy.
Now you may wish to know the weather before your trip, however bear these thoughts in mind. In the 17 years of visiting La Balayrie during all seasons, the similarity to English weather is there, however there are some noticeable differences.

Summer - if the sun is out it will be much hotter than England, in the past we have had long hot summers of 30-35 degrees and more, then you will be grateful for the thick granite walls which keep the house cool and any shade you can find.

Winters - if it cold and frosty or snowing it will be much colder than England.

Spring - these can be very sunny and warm and beautiful with the blossom from the fruit trees.

Autumn - Again September and October can be very warm and pleasant and the countryside can be stunning with the colours of autumn.

Sadly one other fact will not escape you, the fields are lush and green at certain times of the year, as at home in the UK, this is not just because of the cows fertilizing the fields, it often is due to the dreaded R word!
